Sky remains one of the UK's major television and streaming providers, offering entertainment, sports, movies, children's programming, and access to popular streaming services through its TV packages. In 2026, Sky TV can be delivered through Sky Stream, which works over Wi-Fi and does not require a satellite dish.
Sky Essential TV is the entry-level package for customers looking for a selection of entertainment channels at a lower monthly price.
For new customers, Sky currently lists Essential TV from £15 per month with a 24-month minimum term. A rolling monthly subscription is also offered at a higher price. The package includes Sky Atlantic, Netflix Standard with Ads, discovery+, and a selection of additional channels.
It can be suitable for households mainly interested in television shows, documentaries, general entertainment, and streaming content.
Sky Ultimate TV provides a broader entertainment package.
For new customers, the current price starts at £24 per month with a 24-month minimum term. Sky says the package includes more than 130 channels and streaming services including Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, Hayu, and discovery+, subject to the applicable package terms.
The package also includes additional Sky entertainment channels such as Sky Max, Sky Documentaries, Sky Comedy, Sky Nature, Sky Witness, Sky Crime, and others.
Sky Sports can be added to a Sky TV subscription for customers interested in live sporting events.
Sky's current Sports package includes all nine dedicated Sky Sports channels, with coverage including Premier League football, Formula 1, and other sports. Sky Sports+ is also included with the complete Sky Sports package.
The current promotional price listed by Sky is £33 per month extra when taking Sky Sports Complete with a qualifying 24-month TV subscription. The standard price is currently £35 per month extra for a 31-day rolling subscription or outside the qualifying minimum term.
Sky Cinema is aimed at households that want a larger selection of movies.
The package includes access to Sky Cinema content and Paramount+ at no additional cost under the applicable subscription terms. Sky also currently promotes two Vue Cinema tickets every month with Sky Cinema.
Pricing can vary depending on the TV package and promotional offer selected.
Sky Kids provides programming aimed at younger viewers.
The current Sky package information lists the Sky Kids Pack at £8 per month extra on a 31-day rolling subscription.
It can be added to a base Sky TV package when additional children's programming is required.
TNT Sports can also be added to Sky's streaming television service.
Sky currently lists TNT Sports at £34 per month extra on a 31-day rolling subscription. It requires a qualifying Sky streaming TV subscription and Sky Glass or Sky Stream.
This can be useful for households that want sports coverage beyond the channels included with standard Sky Sports.
Sky Stream is one of the main ways to watch Sky television without installing a satellite dish.
The Sky Stream puck connects to a compatible television through HDMI and streams content over broadband. Sky recommends a minimum broadband speed of 25Mbps for its streaming television service.
The system can also bring several streaming services together in one interface, reducing the need to switch between separate applications.
Sky also offers packages combining television and broadband.
Current deals include Essential TV with 150Mbps Full Fibre from £35 per month and Ultimate TV with 150Mbps Full Fibre from £41 per month for qualifying new customers on 24-month terms.
Sky also lists an Ultimate TV, Sky Sports, and 900Mbps Full Fibre bundle at £58 per month under a current promotional offer.
Prices and promotional terms can change, so the final monthly cost should be checked when ordering.
Sky Glass provides another way to use Sky's streaming television service by combining the television hardware and Sky experience in one screen.
Current Sky Glass pricing varies by model and screen size. Sky lists one-time prices for Sky Glass Air starting at £359 for 43 inches, while Sky Glass Gen 2 starts at £699 for 43 inches.
A Sky TV streaming subscription is required separately.
The right package depends mainly on viewing preferences.
Essential TV can suit households looking for basic Sky entertainment and streaming services.
Ultimate TV provides a much broader entertainment selection and additional streaming subscriptions.
Sky Sports is designed for households prioritising live sports.
Sky Cinema is more suitable for regular movie viewing.
Sky Kids adds children's programming.
TNT Sports can supplement sports coverage with additional competitions and events.
Sky TV packages in the UK now offer more flexibility through streaming, with Essential TV and Ultimate TV serving as the main base packages. Additional services such as Sky Sports, Sky Cinema, Sky Kids, and TNT Sports can be added depending on viewing preferences. Sky Stream also allows television content to be delivered over broadband without requiring a satellite dish.
Because prices, promotional offers, minimum terms, and package contents can change, checking the latest Sky pricing before subscribing is important.
