Smartphones may replace many PC functions but not all. Their increasing processing power, cloud integration, and accessory support allow for productivity tasks like document editing, coding, and design. With external displays, keyboards, and styluses, smartphones become mobile workstations. However, for high-performance tasks—such as 3D rendering or large-scale programming—desktops still dominate.
Operating systems will become more unified across devices, making transitions seamless. While casual users may ditch PCs, professionals will still need specialized setups. So, smartphones won’t replace PCs entirely, but will become central computing hubs, especially as 5G and edge computing further boost their real-time performance and multitasking power.
